Grapevine/La Viña
A Grapevine/La Viña Representative (GVR/RLV) is an AA member who serves as the link between Grapevine and La Viña magazines and their AA group. GVR/RLVs are typically elected by their home groups. Their terms of service are typically two years. They encourage AA groups to subscribe to Grapevine and La Vina, make regular announcements when the latest issues have arrived and highlight their contents, the see that the magazine is clearly displayed in meeting rooms and is available for purchase, they encourage group members to submit stories for publication, they suggest the magazines for group 12th Step activities and introduces other Grapevine and La Viña items: books, online subscriptions, and more. Reps can draw on the experience, strength and hope (and assistance) of others doing service on behalf of Grapevine and La Viña. District GVRs/RLVs, Area GV Chairs and the AA Grapevine office are here to help.
The Grapevine and La Viña “Carry the Message” Project is great way to get gift subscriptions into the hands of alcoholics in need. AA members can get their groups, districts and areas involved. Grapevine and La Viña are wonderful Twelfth-Step tools to help reach alcoholics, whether in detoxes, rehabs, jails—or even right in our own home groups. Great for: sponsees, newcomers, prisons, detoxes, doctor’s offices, group celebrations and giveaways, and district and area events.

District 02 Guidelines Article IV Section 3.0
The Grapevine Committee relays information about the Grapevine magazine and other materials to the individual groups via their respective Grapevine Representatives (G.V.R.s). The Chairperson shall request funds from District 02 as needed and submit reasonable documentation of expenses to the Treasurer for reimbursement. The Chairperson will also submit an annual budget to the district for the upcoming year. The Chairperson or a delegate representative provides monthly reports at District Meetings.
