Alcoholics Anonymous District 02 Corrections Committee’s purpose is to facilitate carrying the message of AA to the general population inside both county and state-run correctional facilities, where those populations cannot attend outside AA meetings.
The Corrections Committee seeks correspondence contacts for inmates. This provides an opportunity for AA volunteers to correspond with inmates in our district. Additionally, volunteers are sought for the Bridging The Gap program, where a temporary contact assists an alcoholic ex-offender find meetings and merge into the mainstream AA community, upon their release.
If you are interested in becoming an active member of the Corrections Committee, corresponding with AA members in corrections facilities, becoming a contact upon their release, or interested in information about carrying the message into a corrections facility, email: corrections@district02aa.org
Please note: At least one year of continuous sobriety and “off paper” is required to volunteer.
The Corrections Literature fund provides AA and Grapevine literature to jails and prisons in District 02. If you or your group wishes to donate to this fund, make checks payable to District 02 Treasurer (note “Correction Lit” in lower left “note” section of check) and mail to District Treasurer, PO Box 2632, Appleton, WI 54911
